Well...Portis was there and I took him. ALmost landed Stephen
Jackson...he felt to 8 for some strange reason. Grabbed Brees on the
way back through (took him over Romo who was still available).
Grabbed Thomas Jones on the way back through in the 3rd and Gates
in the 4th....followed by Tony Gonzalez in the 5th.
I know, I know...it sounds strange to grab TEs back to back that early
but in this league a TE get 1.5 points per reception (WRs get 1 ppr and
RBs get 0.5 ppr). Therefore TEs like Gates/Gonzalez/Witten/Winslow
are worth alot. Gates and Gonzalez not only lead their team in
receptions every year, they also are the #1 redzone receiving threat
every week. I still ended up with Santonio Holmes and Santana Moss
as my starters at WR. Add in the Pats D and Rackers at kicker...I'm
feeling pretty good.
I'm a firm believer in the depth that available at RB and WR this year.
There are probably some top 20 people at both position who weren't
even drafted this year. Top 5 QBs and top 5 TEs are Elite and should
finish top 5, barring injuries.
Late round pick I grabbed that I'm happy about....Steve Slaton. He may
be starting within a couple weeks.
