As much as I hate to say it, a great number of Americans cannot seem
to manage their retirement accounts adequately. I've heard hundreds of
stories of retirees (or people nearing retirement) who have lost the great
majority of their funds in the stock market. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD
NEVER BE IN THE MARKET AT THAT POINT. SWITCH TO SAFE
INVESTMENTS AS YOU NEAR RETIREMENT.

Social Security needs to remain that super reliable save haven that
people will continue to draw even if all other investments are wiped out.
I'm generally for personal freedom and the market, but if we are going to
agree to have a social safety net in this country, it should be run solely
by the government as it is now.
