Subject: It takes a new mentality called The Simple Life
Posted by: ChicagoHoo on Thu Nov 20 2008 9:35:52 AM
Message:

Our economy is based on spending and growth with massive credit.
Without the credit (and it should stop) spending and growth slows and
boy is it slowing. Immigrants will start to recoil and head back to
native lands and many of us will be scaling back - all for the better
good in the long run - choices like sit in Church with your kids for
90 minutes versus watching TV while your kids play video games. It
will be a sea change for many but we need to lower expectations and
start from scratch - that is what the market is trying to tell all of
us. Did we really think this life could go on forever? Material waste
out the wazoo with our government and it citizens accumulating
trillions of dollars of debt? No stimulus will change what is
happening here.
